Re: hitting good off speed pitching

There are a couple of quotes from Hank Aaron that worked for us.
From Hank Aaron:
"I have always felt that although someone may defeat me, and I strike out in a ball game, the pitcher on the particular day was the best player. But I know when I see him again, I'm going to be ready for his curve ball. Failure is a part of success. There is no such thing as a bed of roses all your life. But failure will never stand in the way of success if you learn from it."
"I looked for the same pitch my whole career, a breaking ball, all of the time. I never worried about the fastball," Hank said. "They couldn't throw it past me, none of them."
And opposing pitchers concurred with his assertion: "Throwing a fastball to Henry Aaron is like trying to sneak the sun past a rooster." --- Curt Simmons, pitcher
This is what I told my son when the game is on the line with 2 strikes, look breaking ball and trust your instincts if you get the fast ball. I also throw breaking balls in BP. He is a very good hitter on both pitches. It will be interesting to read other opinions.
