Hi All

Larry Briody has been a regular to this board from its inception in1999. In fact, the first video I received for Swing Review Analysis was for Larry’s daughter Kate. Many of you may have read our discussions on hitting and Kate’s progress. Kate graduated from high school and received a scholarship to play softball at Towson University.

I recently received an e-mail from Larry regarding a news release of Kate’s accomplishments and appointment as assistant coach at Vermont. Below is my reply to Larry’s e-mail and Internet address of the news release.

>>> Mr. Mankin,

I thought you might like to see what has become of Kate. She wouldn't have been the player described without your help and encouragement. Your friend,
Larry Briody

Hi Larry

I have been away from the office the past few days, so please excuse the delay in my reply. – Kate’s outstanding offensive and defensive accomplishments at the college level comes as no surprise to us at Batspeed.com. It was evident from the first video of her play you sent that Kate had all the tools to compete at the highest level.

Kate’s knowledge of the game and insight from a player’s perspective will allow her to help many young players reach their potential. Vermont made a wise choice.

Larry, I will post the news release to the discussion board to inform our readers of her accomplishments.

Best regards,

Jack Mankin
