I agree that what you said could be right. Some sort of combination of video/motion/pressure/EMG type analysis of live high level swings could further sort this out, but I don't think these details are necessary to teach productively.

I think the "xfactor stretch/cusp" concept is a good one for me, but exactly how this transfers momentum in detailis not well described as far as I know.
