Re: wooden bat

I am considering buying a wooden bat to practice with. Does anyone know the cost of a typical wooden bat? Also, is it a good idea to practice with it and are you alllowed to use wooden bats in high school games?
It's a great idea to practice with a wooden bat, since the sweet spot is smaller. So if you can consistently hit a ball hard on the sweet spot of a wooden bat, then in a game you have the advantage of a larger sweet spot, so you'll be hitting really hard. I wouldn't advise using a wood bat in a game since the ball doesn't go as far. If you hit a high fly on the warning track and the outfielder caught it, that could have been a homer.
