Manny Ramirez Swing

Posted by: Enmanuel Vargas (enmanuelv@gmail.com) on Mon Sep 4 02:00:06 2006

Jack Mankin, i once asked about the swing of Manny Ramirez and never got a reply from you, i hope i could get it this time.
Watching Manny Ramirez hit its just something to enjoy. His leg kick first, then boom like if he knows where's the pitch is going before the pitcher release the ball. From what i see he uses some linear movement like shifting to the front foot (sometimes), and have watched his hands rotate before his hips in one HR he hit VS John Smoltz in Atlanta this year. He too does a thing that i think is very important for a hitter, he always keeps his eyes on the ball (contact point) even after contact and i think this have a LOT to do with his success with the bat. Id love to get some input from you about this excellent hitter. Thanks in advance.
