Re: still popping up

Posted by: Joe A. () on Sun Jul 8 17:30:38 2001

I made a post several days ago about how I brought my back elbow in and it caused me to pop out twice. Today I popped up two more times. The second one was on a very, very, very good pitch to hit and I am becoming very concerned. What could be causing this?

Scott,

This is something I should have explained in more detail. Some people will drop their elbow but it does not rest againist their side. Their elbow goes past their side and is near the center of their body. I took a tape of one person who's elbow was pointing to a point some where infront of the plate.

This cause you bat to be "floppy" and lower the back shoulder.

Your arm should rest againist your side pointing straight to the ground before, no latter then, when you start your forward motion with your hands. When you drop your shoulder your bat should be at about a 45 degree angle.

Hope this helps.

Joe A.
