up angle, flat, or down angle for fastpitch softball

Ted Williams advocates a slight upswing for baseball because the trajectory of the ball is slightly downward as it comes in. Would the same apply to fastpitch softball? Is the trajectory of a fastpitch softball the same? Any references to web articles on this?

Thanks;

Tom
