Rob, Just my two cents, My boy now 14 and a good hitter in Mid school and since t ball has seen it all. Yes I want him to swing, but heres what Ive seen. Too many kids swinging at bad pitches, actually still do. Lots of bad habits. Hitting good strikes is tough enough . First instill good mechanics.Then try L screen fom 20 ft have him get in box and just have him call out strikes and balls.Throw easy. No hitting at first . You might be surprised at what "he" considers balls and strikes.Then comes the hard part, not to be sooo selective. Good Luck
