How do we know that he hit the farthest balls ever? I'm sure Mickey could launch the ball like anyone today, but these distances were most likely exaggerated, much like Bob Feller claiming that he threw 106 MPH in his prime....

No one saw his famous "565" foot home run land, a reporter guessed where it landed the next day. Not exactly scientific.
