Louy, let me see if I understand you. Are you really, really saying that a good female pitcher such as the sort you see at gold tournaments in Houston, So Cal and other places around the country (never mind the men for now) can't throw an underhand pitch with decent backspin? Most aren't 6-12 straight backspin, true. The axis may be tilted to 7-1 for a right hander or axis may be a few degrees toward spiral bullet type spin (although I have seen near perfect backspin) but a good one is 70% or better backspin. If you want an explanation of how it's done, you can search out John Gay's website or get Barry Sammon's book from the library, or order Ernie Parker's tapes.
