How to Diagnosis a problem

I have a 10 year player and just not making real good solid contact (weak grounds some flares, pop-ups and a few liners mixed in) and I'm trying to figure out why. He has in the past hit well, made good contact but latey he is not. What are things to look at or watch for that he could be doing or not?
