I agree with you. I would add that part of their problem of reprogramming to hit a different kind of pitching is that, regardless of whether it is rising or not, a good backspin softball pitch is doing something strange that apparently you can't make a baseball do. If you have seen a good one, this fact is not arguable. Whether or not it rises...who cares. It's fun to argue. Pointless, but fun. If you have someone with the background to discuss it.
