Thanks for the post. Im not totally sure I understand it yet but will read it through a few times.... I had always taught to drive through the ball ...Much like breaking bricks in Karate .. You build up hand speed,the force starts from below and your focus is beyond the blocks.
I know this is quite different as you have a moving object in a baseball but when you hit the ball, the power built up would have to continue I would believe. I guess im doing it wrong as the heavy bag I practiced on moved when I hit it.

Had anyone ever saw the ledgenary Bruce Lee and his 1 inch punch ? The man could hold his fist 1 inch from his opponent and with his kinetic energy chain built up and starting from his lower body. Drive a man back 15 ft.

Talk about a short and compact stroke. I would like to be able to be able to bring some of that to baseball...
