This is pretty simple. Go to Home Depot, have them cut a 4 foot long 2 by 12. Have her stand on the board and hit. She will have to step straight to stay on the board. If the board slips on the ground glue, staple or nail those antislip pads or cups you use on furniture to the bottom of the board.

She can take dry cuts on the board, hit off the tee on the board, and probably even do soft toss.

When I played, the coach would simply put an extra bat behind your left foot laying on the ground. The bat is lined up with the pitcher or the direction you want the hitter stepping. I haven't seen this done in a while but it does get the point across with the hitter. They will stumble on the bat if they step on it so they are very careful to step straight ahead.
