Personally what i did to stop dropping my shoulder or popping up on the ballw as in my pre pitch mechanics i had my elbow up so that its basically on a level plain right my right shoulder (for a righty batter) so that when i brought my hands back my shoulder would stay up and produce hard line drives and grounders. hope that helped you
