Hinge Bat

Hello everyone,

I've decided to re-learn my swing in an effort to play baseball again in a summer league(I stopped playing when i was 18...now i'm 22). After tons of research and watching tapes of myself playing when i was younger and in Highschool, I realized the mechanics of my swing could have been better in alot of areas. I used to hit home runs in highschool, but the adult league here requires wood bats...needless to say with my old long swing, i'm not producing the bat speed needed to be effective while using a wood bat. I'm going to make a hinge bat because I've read good things, but how are they used? What are some of the drills I can do with a hinge bat to make the best use out of it? Is the purpose is to keep the bat straight? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
