Look at Most japanese players how they load up early to generate power. Take Ichiro for example - He lifts his foot and coils back while the pitcher is winding up and almost holds it there till he identifies the pitch. I know he is mostly a singles hitter but If you ever watch his homeruns he uncoils like a spring and for someone who weighs 165 pounds he generates a lot of rotational power.
