Rotational vs Linear

Posted by: BJ Ferg () on Fri Jun 15 23:33:56 2001

I currently play legions.
At the start of the season I had a dominantly linear swing.
My batting average was very good, around 600.
But all of my hits were singles with a few doubles. I had no home-runs.

Over the last few weeks ive been using more of a rotation. I beleive im swinging a bit lower and popping the ball up more, and my average is probably around 450 or so now, but ive hit 2 home-runs in the last 5 games. Our outfield is around 310-340 ft. When i used weight transfer i wasn't hitting the ball nearly as far, but i got on base more, and i had more RBIS.
I now intend to stay with and work on my rotational swing, but i guess its a trade-off. Anyone here notice any similar drop-offs in batting avg, RBIS, and more pop-ups, but an increase in power?
