Momentum is the product of a body’s mass and velocity. Inertia is body’s tendency to remain in a fixed condition. – For me to reply to your statement, you will need to clarify what you mean by, “you seem to ignore the lower body's role in going back to overcome inertia..” and explain how I ignore it.
