Hey, just wanted to add a possible help....I find this pattern alot in instructing my students, grounders to short, pop ups to second. Consistent grounders to short can result from the top hand rolling to quick, sometimes a result for front shoulder flying to early. Like the earlier post, if he's late AND he leads with his front shoulder, he will drag his bat. LOTS of hand drills....
