Re: big time problems with my swing. Need help now

Posted by: MB () on Mon Jun 11 17:43:37 2001

I have the greatest feeling that I'm not applying torque properly, or I'm not applying torque at all. I just can't pull in opposite directions with both hands. I'm probably still pushing both arms forward a LITTLE. I also don't think I am rotating my shoulders enough. I know for sure that my hips are rotated enuff. My bellybutton faces right at the pitcher. But my shoulders don't feel like they have rotated enuff.
> With my torque problem I've been applying it like the sky is 12:00, picher-3:00, home plate-6:00 and catcher-9:00. I've been pulling from 12-6. Shouldn't it be like pitcher-12:00, 1st base dugout-3:00, catcher-6:00, home dugout-9:00? So should I be going from 3-6? I hope you get the picture. I really need help. Any help would be great!

First of all have you invested in Jack's tape? He shows/explains it perfectly on tape. THT is a finesse move. By your description you may have the bat to veritcal and off plane. Your shoulders should be rotating further than your hips. Why? Because they can and you might as well use every part of what you came here with to generate power in your swing. Possibly you have to much linear movement and not enough rotational action?
