BHL's theory has merit in a "moneyball", sabrmetric sense...Hitters who pull the ball often can have some sucess...however, since most of us here are instructors or coaches in some form or another, is this theory an effective one to teach to young hitters...

This is where I have to dogpile on BHL and guess that he has never stood in a batter's box against any type of serious competition. Any on who has knows that having the "intent" to pull every pitch is a recipe for a short career. Just hitting the ball squarely is hard enough, let alone trying to direct it to a limited spot on the field.

...So, BHL, the question I have is how is this method a teachable one? Forget geometry, how would you teach and drill a hitter to pull every pitch? And how would you adjust if this hitter attempted to pull what he thinks is a fastball down the middle and ends up waving at a slider 6 inches outside?

Hitting a baseball is much more complicated than geometry...
