Batting cage bat weight vs. game

I never thought about it untill a few days aga, my 8 year old son uses diferent bats when in the cage and in a game. His cage "cheap" bat has an 10 ounce drop and his "expensive" game bat has a 12 ounce drop. Could this cause long term problems or am I just being an over-paranoid dad?
