Thanks for the replies. She's 11 and plays softball.

Someone I asked about this had mentioned she should try keeping the knob of the bat
with her belly button as she swings. I don't know about that, it doesn't sound quite right.

Joe is right that her hips are definitely opening too soon. I hadn't noticed it until a batting
coach pointed it out. This also explains why all her hits are going to the opposite field
now. I just reviewed the drills in the DVD and think I will go back and spend some time
with her on the basics and see if we can clean up her swing a bit.


Then I think I need to send in a video to have Jack comment on it. Unfortunately the
batting instructors I know of around here are all of the linear school of thought.
