timing of opening hips

Posted by: dave (nytino20@aol.com) on Mon May 22 14:19:44 2006

I was just wondering if I should be concentrating on turning first and then swinging. It would seem that if I could get my timing right then I could get the fastest possible bat speed because the power (from ground up) starting with my legs, hips, and then shoulders is really what produces all the power. So if I start my swing too early then I don't lose some of the possible power that I can generate. If I turn first and then swing I am more or less swinging the bat with my entire body behind it and then my hands are just guiding the bat to where I want.
