I tell you want... you just keep working on your swing and your timing. The worst thing a hitter can do is let ANYONE change their style. That's why I'm so thankful for guys like Jack in starting this research on the swing so we can learn this stuff for ourselves instead of (most) well meaning coaches that just want to apply a cookie cutter approach to hitting. This seems to be prevailant at the high school level. I think the key to going the other way with power is just waiting on the ball a little bit longer but keeping your same mechanics. I know what you're going through because I ran into the a similar situation in high school. The coaches there just tried to apply a cookie cutter style for everyone and you could see it right down to the players. (It didn't help that I changed my style everyday but still- I just was trying to be consistent- I had just learned the basics of hitting and I didn't know any better)I am 20 years old now, and boy, if I had this swing then that I have now I probably would have been drafted on just my ability hitting alone. But I have it now...
