back foot

I would really love to know how a lot of MLB hitters get there back foot to come up on the toe and some of them even get through it so hard that their back foot actually drags forward. Watch in this clip of Troy Glaus how his back foot actually lifts off the ground and goes forward. The web site is http://www.youthbaseballcoaching.com/mpg/Glauss02.mpeg And also notice how he gets on his toe instead of turning on his back foot and "squishing the bug" Can someone please help me out on how to get that drive in the back leg and get that force to make your leg drive forward instead of just sitting back and turning on it. Thanks!
