Question, do you hit with your back elbow up and your knocking knuckles not lined up? If you are wrapping the bat you probably do.

The problem, most likely your knocking knuckles are not lined up. You'll find your back elbow will be pointing straight out behind you and that is not a good hitting position! Line up your knocking knuckles and your elbow will automatically come down into the correct position(touching or very near you side/back hip).
It is impossible to wrap the bat if your knuckles are line up and your elbow is in the correct position. Look in the mirror and see for yourself, as soon as your knuckle are not lined up, your elbow points straight back! Line the knuckles up and elbow will come down and wrapping will not be an option because anatomically you can't wrap if your elbow is down!
