Leverage??

Posted by: Carlos M. () on Sun May 6 11:12:06 2001

Many softball hitting "experts" say that leverage is an important factor in generating power.

So they say that you should hold the knob of the bat in the palm of your bottom hand, thereby making the bat- for all intents and purposes- an inch or two longer. Longer bat=More Leverage=More Power.

What do you think about this, Jack? I've been holding my bat like this for awhile, but now I'm wondering whether or not this type of grip is compatible with the new mechanics (yours) that I'm using.

P.S. Thanks for all of your replies. They are very much appreciated!
