I think that you should hold the bat with a loose grip. It feels like you have better control
on the bat with a tight grip, but that's because when you grip the bat tightly, you start
using your hands to swing. When this happens, you rely more on you arms and less on
your core. Grip the bat loosely, and you will swing with your hips and your arms will come
around after.
