Lau + Williams = Schmidt

Jack. The forum discussed this subject earlier in the year, but I could not help but bring up hitters who were a combination of rotational and weight shift hitters. The following were a few that came to mind. (Hank Aaron, Mike Schmidt, Cal Ripken, and Dave Winfield.) Each hitter started with his weight back slightly, but ended with a forward shift almost completely through to his front side. Each hitter also made use of the entire field and for the most part hit for a good average, power, a was able to draw walks which contribute to a high on base percentage. I find it no surprise that each made the hall of fame relatively easily. Also coincidentally, each player dominated defensively (gold glove winner) as well as offensively for a sustained period of time.
