Re: No stride!
> My son hits from a very tall stance with his feet about shoulder width apart. He effectively transfers his weight without a stride, just a slight turn of the front foot. The closest pro that I find is Ken Griffey Jr. Coaches seem to think he needs to stride. I, however, think that most kids overstride which causes their eyes to move to a lower plane. Any thoughts?
When there are two strikes on the batter, I coach all of my players to choke up and take their stride before the pitcher begins his wind-up (No Movement during the pitch). We call it the "two strike swing."
I will also tell players having trouble making good contact to use the "two strike swing." IT WORKS.
