I would suppose “Hips first” would be considered a rotational cue. I also started to mention “rearward bat acceleration” but that is also more a principle than a cue. Hopefully, someone can point out a few I missed.

..I will try a few I use,1st the hitter must understand how the rotational swing evolves inorder to make a cue work, same is true for linear. So in order to help picture the swing and have it evolve we need cues that are different since people see things and perceives things differently, here are mine I use,[Load to unload][Coil to uncoil],Rotate the barrel into the contact point,[rear elbow back and down]this refers to pulling rear elbow back toward dugout behind them ,making aware a upper body load to happen.keep the lead bicep tight to lead chest muscle.helps stop disconnection.Hip shoulder Bang/bang,I use this to help a guy think of lower body start before upper body but try to get the upper body to catch up to lower body by contact ,no bat drag ,that is what the bang bang thought is as quick as you can say it that is the speed difference of the initiation of lower then upper.Look away react in[Pena/ howard type hitters who hit low balls on both siides of the plate vs. tilt up ala utley to think middle in pull idea only but will tilt slow into load for low pitch and be ready to adjust up quickly into higher pitch upright tilt,so he handles half the plate barrel ahead of hands but adjusts tilt for low and up both
