front leg / weight transfer

The weight transfer in golf and baseball are not the same. In golf, the body ends up over the front foot, while in baseball your weight is STOPPED by the front foot. While the weight is going the same direction, a baseball swing is much different. To control the bat and have power, you must not let your weight go over the front foot. I like to tell my students that it is like playing "tug of war." The force of the bat is pulling you away from the plate while your lead foot is stopping it.
