Re: Swing problem

Posted by: Major Dan (markj89@charter.net) on Tue Apr 10 12:12:28 2001

I am 13 yrs old and having trouble making contact with the ball during batting practice. I seem to be taking good swings but miss most of the time or will hit a lot of grounders to the oppisite field.
> My coach says my swing looks ok, but I am steping in the bucket on almost every pitch. Can you give me some tips or drills to stop this from happening ?. I think I am worried about getting hit and thats why I step out. Thanks MB

Matt -
A common swing problem is stepping out early along with casting. The lower body flies out one way, the hands and arms fly out the other way and both too early. This will result in opposite field grounders.
Read all the pages of this website and try to figure out how to swing this way. Jack Mankin's video helps a lot - seeing makes it easier. It is worth the money.
