Jim. I do not have access to your video media, so I cannot dispute your findings. And what you see on film probably illustrates your point. The only problem is Bonds and Edmonds effects are not as similar as you would believe. Edmonds like Will Clark and Brett are actually taking a linear movement backward and sweeping (gliding) the bat through the hitting zone. Bonds on the other hand is using a defined torque movement to initiate his bat speed. He then uses a thrust of his hands to strike the baseball that is initiated from his launch position. If you disagree try batting like both players from the set up and execution. You will notice a definite difference though it might look the same to the naked eye. One player is attacking the baseball while the other is running into it from a backward position to a forward position.
