Re: Jim Edmonds=linear mechanics???

baseball is about getting base hits, not a contest to see who can swing the fastest. all good hitters use some rotational and linear mechanics...only a couple (williams; bonds) are strictly rontational and that's because they have the hand eye coordination necessary to wait for the one pitch per at bat that they can turn on. the whole discussion about so called rotational mechanics vs linear is weird. if baseball was played with a hitting machine, then i might consider having my players employ only rotational mechanics. until then, tempo, balance, vision, extension and rotation are of equal importance.
