It depends on what you mean by casting,

impedance to bat speed development. Great hitters initiate the swing with torque and
rotational forces to develop as much bat speed as early in the swing as possible."


So it's important to get the bat moving in a way that overcomes inertia, but at the same
time does not interfere with the load/unload sequence of the swing.

That can be a tricky thing to teach/learn.
