Rotaional Mech & Rythm

In reference to pre-launch and launch: Do any of you have any insight to developing a rhythm with the pitcher in order to get a batter ahead of the pitcher (almost waiting for the ball)? I have worked with my son on rotational mechanics for about 3 1/2 years. His mechanics are fairly solid but we were still having some problems hitting the ball; meaning, he was swinging too late and having to rush the swing. We've had some success focusing our efforts on rhythm; I think that rhythm is timed with the pitcher's delivery, THT, pre-launch, and ultimately to the launch position just prior to go. I don't remember ever reading about this and was wondering if this is a subject worthy enough to have a discussion on. I hope I'm making sense. Thanks!
