Re: Carlos Delgado's 2nd half success

>>> Hi Jack,

do you have any video swing analysis of Delgado's swing mechanics that accounts for the turnaround in his hitting results? Many critics had him washed up, with slow batspeed unable to hit the inside fastball. Based on the limited times I saw him during the first half of the season, I was very skeptical of this explanation. What have you seen? <<<

Hi Chuck

Sorry, wish I did but I do not have before-and-after clip of him in my files. The same is true for Bellyard. After a modest beginning, he was the hottest hitter in Aug. It requires both frontal and across the plate views of a hitter to make a complete analysis. The problem with making before-and-after analysis is that they seldom, if ever, show across the plate views of hitters unless they just hit a home run. Therefore you seldom see swings from that view of hitters in a batting slump.
