Hand speed is how quickly you can get your hands and bat head through the hitting zone. The faster the hands the harder and farther the ball goes. Bat speed not strength determines how hard you hit the ball. Your hands should be at full speed the moment you start your swing and they should not be stopped until you are through with your swing. you should never volunatrily slow your hands down. they should slow down and stop by themselves when your swing is done.
