Seeking math equation for bat speed

Posted by: Elaine (takethestairs@msn.com) on Sun Nov 6 11:06:55 2005

My son is looking for an equation to figure out how fast a bat will need to be swung with a pitch speed of 90 mph, for a home run. Variables include: length of field and height of fence. I am assuming all other variables such as,weight of bat and rotational swing are not going to be factors.

Any help is appreciated.

Elaine
