I didn't say your device ruined my swing, but it's a symbol of everything I was taught. And I did end up playing pro ball, even being taught to keep "barrel above the hands until contact". But it's frustrating to learn how to hit after you stop playing. And your theory is not "slightly" down to the ball, I've measured your previous incarnation of the Instructoswing at 25 degrees down, the whole way to contact. That's straight down.
Please don't pretend that you understand Nyman and Mankin when you were on this board one year ago, you still had the idea that ANY upward motion before contact was longer and would only put the ball in the air. You are sucking up to them now because you're trying to sell your product to the rotational crowd. Any one can see that. I guess that's what you figure is being professional in this business.
> back in the 80's and early 90's the swing that was taught was at the high school, college, and professional levels was swing slightly down to the ball. I played professional baseball and I have had 4 batting titles throughout my career. I have played with a lot of big time players and they were taught the same. The swing today and how to achieve a high level swing is so advanced with VCR's, slow motion analysis, and gurus like Jack Mankin and Paul Nyman to help educate us on the subject. I can't believe that you are saying that this device ruined your swing . This sounds like to me an excuse for your lack of skill or real lack of understanding of what it takes to be a professional in this business.
