Ball Speed

Posted by: Jon (sweber8@new.rr.com) on Mon Oct 3 07:19:37 2005

Could you clarify the science behind the speed of a pitch vs. the speed that a ball leaves the bat, i.e. if a fastball is thrown at 96 mph, with a "normal" range of bat speed will the ball leave at a higher speed than 96? What is the calculation.

Thanks,

Jon
