i don't understand why you are blaming the fence drill for your above mentioned inside out swing with weak results. the fence drill is designed to overcome the problem of sweeping the bat through the strike zone. i have always encountered good results with the fence drill, and my students have always been able to hammer the inside pitch. the fence drill has been around for 100 years and been used with good results. everything else you mention is good info. is there something i am missing in your statement?
