What brings the shoulders around?

Posted by: dougdinger () on Fri Sep 2 00:02:26 2005

What is it that brings the shoulders around and causes the front shoulder to start pulling backward toward the catcher? Is it the straightening of the front knee? Is it the pivoting of the back foot? Is it both, which rotate the hips? Or do the shoulders act on their own? In other words, what should be the main focus when trying to acquire rotation around the axis and aquiring a CHP with BHT most efficiently? The front knee extending? Pulling back on the front shoulders, or pushing the back shoulder around? Full hip rotation? Also, if this can be answered as well that'd be great, if not, I'll star a new thread. What is it that causes BHT? Is is the front shoulder pulling back, is it simply a product of a CHP, or does it need to be applied on it's own through the bottom hand itself? Thanks to all who respond.
