Why would you want to change your swing to hit backspin line drives. A more practical goal would be to develop a faster swing to hit harder. Topspin line drives are fine. Not only did Gehrig's hits knuckle, making them difficult to catch, but Ted Williams is reported to have hit topspin line drives. Backspin is greatly overrated, especially if you have to work hard to change your swing without any guarantee of success.
