Re: Re: Re: Re: to Phil
Phil,
You have been very patient with me, and I have enjoyed conversing with you. I admire your desire to truly understand, for your and your son/daughter’s consequence.
I don’t use the adverb “truly” loosely.
I’ll direct you to some links, but first, I’d like to give you three bits of advice which are huge (take it or leave it).
1. your learning perspective should be from the view, “to learn how to hit” , not necessarily “to learn how to swing”. The reason I say this is because of your stated golf background. In golf you practice your “swing” and in competition you “swing”, but in baseball you practice your “swing” and in competition you “hit”.
2. each bit of hitting instruction you accumulate should be extensively researched by you. Question everyone and everything. (This is what has ballooned my 'favorites' list.)
3. Empower your son/daughter.

and select: “Drills/Mechanics”.
This is very ironic. Although Jack constantly refers people to youthbaseballcoaching.com for video viewing, they do not link his website.
And if you scroll manually to “Baseball Forums” (same web address I gave), batspeed.com is not listed there, either.
And irony of ironies, they promote a drill (referenced in our recent discussion) which Jack repudiates.
