Great point, Jack. I also feel that too much cage work over the years has caused me to minimize the inward turn of the lead foot. Since this mechanism must begin before the pitcher releases the pitch, it is hard to duplicate this in a batting cage, where nothing can start until the ball is spit out. Thanks to your website I have re-examined this and determined that it is far better to miss some balls in the cage, as long as the mecahanics are in order, rather than to become a "batting cage all-star" who has half a swing and demonstrates no power in live-pitching situations.
