Back Elbow question

Right now I'm just focusing on coming to a good launch position and then rotating around a stationary axis, no torque or anything fancy, just the first part of the program here as in the booklet that comes with the video. My question is it says to start with the back elbow relaxed, but does it matter at first if you come to the launch with the back elbow up or down? Mine is more high, and I'm not trying to apply torque or anything, so does it matter? Will ait affect my development in the swing?
